Hello from hot and sunny Milwaukee!
Since it’s officially after Memorial Day, I’ll be instituting Summer Fridays from now until Labor Day in honor of a great American tradition that hasn’t really become a great American tradition at enough workplaces. As I’m training for a 100-mile hike in Scotland later this month, I’ll be hiking a 10-mile stretch of Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail (IAT) this afternoon. The pic above is from an IAT section I hiked on Sunday.
Speaking of that Scotland hike, a few days ago, I put out a call for wet-weather hiking gear to test on the trip and I got DOZENS of responses. Please don’t take it personally if I didn’t respond, I just got flooded. Pun intended.
On to Forbes Feature Friday. My “Want a Forbes Feature?” email last month was exteremly popular and I got a huge response from it so I’m following up today with a big announcement I got from one of my Forbes editors last week.
For the past two years, I’ve mostly written for the Gear vertical at Forbes Vetted, which has covered all things sports and outdoors (hiking boots and shirts, bikes and helmets, golfing gear, fire pits, treadmills, etc.) and, for some reason, travel. Well, that structure is about to change. You see, my main editor wrote me a private email last week and, while some of that information is privileged (I LOVE this editor and would never do anything to jeopardize our relationship), there are some things that I can share with my beloved subscribers:
