Greetings from Cost Rica,
I’ve been here the past 4 days researching a new Lonely Planet Guidebook. Guidebook research is fun but exhausting and a few people have told me I should write an article about what it entails. To give you a quick sneak peek, the pic above is from just ONE page of notes I took on Monday in a 48-page chapter I’m updating. After taking these written notes and notes within Google Maps, I have to go in and organize my notes in a Word document and then later upload into LP’s content management system (the most time-consuming part).
In just 3 days, I’ve done several walking tours, conducted numerous interviews with guides, baristas, and coffee roasters; and I’ve inspected a bunch of hotels. This is just the beginning.
I’m here through next week then I’ll have just a few days home in NYC to work before taking off for the holidays. So….if you want to chat, today is the day! Check out below how to join my last call of the year.
