How to Send the Perfect Pitch - Part 4
Seven Specific Things You Must Do For Me to Consider Your Pitch
Hi everyone,
I hope you enjoyed the Labor Day holiday. I’ve had my niece and nephew and their dad visiting, so I’ve been desperately trying to convince them to do anything other than go to Times Square every day. I gave them a bike tour of Brooklyn and when my (6-year-old) niece saw this picture of the Manhattan skyline, she said “That’s New York? How is it so pretty on the outside if it’s not pretty when we’re inside of it?” She’s not wrong.
Because the summer is unofficially over (and I expect we’ll all be seeing fewer OOOs bouncing back), it’s a great time to pitch! So….I’m going to wrap up my four-part series on pitching for paid subscribers. I just got a boatload of gear review commissions, mostly from Forbes, but also from The Daily Beast, and I’ll start sending product call alerts for those out tomorrow. Want to send me a great pitch? This series will teach you how.
Here’s what a few subscribers have said about the pitching series so far:
“This information is incredibly helpful. I can imagine it took a while to put together, but thanks so much for sharing, Cassandra!!”
“This is interesting and SO helpful to know. Thanks for giving us insight into what's likely often going on behind the scenes.”
“SUPER HELPFUL!”

Once I’m done with the Forbes series, I’ll be highlighting the Wall Street Journal then The Daily Beast. Not a paid subscriber yet? Get on it! :)
Have a great weekend!

HOW TO SEND THE PERFECT PITCH - PART 4
As I mentioned in previous emails, I often get hundreds of responses when I send out pitch calls for Forbes product reviews. I recently also got flooded with pitches to be included in a Wall Street Journal article I casually mentioned even though I didn’t specify the topic or request pitches! If I’m honest with you, I deleted at least half of them after skimming the pitch for a few seconds, and I’ll tell you why.
Here are Seven Specific Things You Must Do For Me to Consider Your Pitch.
